- There are usually only two possible reasons why the water inlet on your dishwasher is leaking.
- The first cause may be the screw connection. This may, but only very rarely, have loosened somewhat and therefore triggered the leak.
- The second possibility is that the seal on the screw connection is defective. This can well happen over the years.
Repairing the water inlet - the procedure
- The first thing to do is to turn off the water supply immediately.
- If the water supply is only due to the screw connection and the seal is still in order, you can easily tighten it with a water pump pliers. However, it would be better if you first put some hemp around the thread for safety reasons. This increases the tightness even further.
- If you notice that it could be due to the seal, take it out of the fitting and examine it carefully. If it is porous, you will need to replace it with a new seal. Most of the time, a dishwasher comes with a few replacement seals. For this reason, you should always keep them in a safe place.
