Increase the download speed on Firefox
Many people nowadays use the free Firefox browser as a browser, which is equipped with some interesting functions. If you use the program often, you should look for a way to increase the download speed.
Make Firefox faster
- Launch your Firefox browser and open Settings, which is where you can look for ways to make Firefox faster in general. At the beginning, select the "Content" section and deactivate the checkmark next to "Load graphics". You can also deactivate "Activate JavaScript", which means that the browser can load web pages more quickly because some elements are simply left out.
- Then switch to the "Data protection" section and note the section "timeline". Here you can change the selection and ensure that Firefox will "never create" the history. You will not notice the difference at the beginning, but certainly if the chronicle is recorded over several months. Then the browser will be slower.
Increase the download speed
- To increase the download speed as well, you can take a look at the extensions. You can reach this via the entry "Extras" in the menu, where you should select "Add-Ons".
- Now start by disabling some unnecessary extensions and plugins. What is achieved is that Firefox generally works faster and can process downloads faster.
- Take a look at the Task Manager which shows you what kind of applications are running in the background. Quit some of them to take some load off the internet connection.
- You can remove z. B. Chat-Clients or programs that provide information for individual services in the background. This also includes download wizards.
- Also take a look at your security programs, such as B. Anti-virus programs or firewalls. If these are programmed incorrectly, they can significantly reduce the download speed. However, remember to reactivate the applications later.
