Sky receiver does not work
With a digital receiver you can receive all satellite programs in high quality. There are also devices from the Sky pay-TV channel that you can use to receive Pay TV. If your Sky receiver no longer works, this can have various causes.
Receive pay TV with a Sky receiver
- To receive Pay TV, you need a suitable satellite or cable-Receiver and of course you also need a subscription. You can get such devices from the pay TV provider Sky, and they are available with and without, among other things hard disk.
- In contrast to receivers from other manufacturers, these receivers have an integrated access system with which you can receive the pay-TV program directly. You no longer need an additional card that has to be inserted.
- Commissioning is very easy and the devices usually work for years without any problems. Unfortunately, there are of course exceptions and some receivers simply give up their ghost after a long time.
If your device doesn't turn on anymore
- Especially with an older cable or satellite receiver from Sky, it can happen that the device can no longer be switched on. In such a case, you should first stay calm and try to find the source of the error.
- Check all cable connections and disconnect the device from the mains for at least 5 minutes.
- Check whether the control lamp is still on; if this is the case, the remote control may also be broken. If the lamp does not light up, the power supply unit is usually broken.
- In this case, the best thing to do is to contact Sky's customer support. If the device still has a guarantee, you can usually have it exchanged free of charge and get a new device.
