  1. With a 2 cm Styrodur plate, which determines the size of the platform, you can set up an insulation on the floor that does not transmit the vibrations during washing and spinning. Since the pedestal for washing machines is built on this plate, it is not necessary to glue the plate.
  2. Aerated concrete blocks are suitable for walls. The advantages are the low weight and the possibility of easy cutting with a saw. You get aerated concrete blocks z. B. with the dimensions 24 x 25 x 60 cm. From this you build a wreath with the external dimensions you have chosen. Use a commercially available aerated concrete adhesive or a tile adhesive for bonding. The desired height results from the layers - e.g. B. 25 cm, 50 cm or 75 cm.
  3. After the glue has dried, glue a solid wooden plate of at least 3 cm to the pedestal for washing machines, tumble dryers, etc. Since the machines are placed on this plate and it cannot be guaranteed that this never comes into contact with moisture, you should cover the panel with wood oil, glaze or clear varnish protection.
  4. For embellishment, you can give your pedestal a plaster. You only need a small amount for this, which you can buy ready-mixed at the hardware store. Before the Plastering you urgently need to apply a deep primer. This prevents the aerated concrete from drawing the water out of the plaster too quickly. In this way the durability of the plaster is guaranteed.
