Krups XN 2005: Coffee is not very hot

Causes of lukewarm coffee from the XN 2005

The brewing temperature cannot be set on the machine. The coffee is usually warm enough. If this is not the case, it could be due to one of the following reasons.

• The Krups XN 2005 and the cups are in a very cold room. The coffee then comes out of the machine sufficiently warm, but cools down quickly in the cup. Preheat the cups by first drawing a cup of hot water from the machine.
• Another reason for coffee that is too cold is that the machine is calcified. The limescale deposits on the heating coil prevent the water from heating up sufficiently. Most of the time, the coffee tastes rather bland.

How to descale the Krups Nespresso

The descaling set includes a filter and descaling agent. This is largely based on lactic acid. It is better not to experiment with other descaler. Under no circumstances should you use vinegar, as it will permanently destroy the Krups XN 2005.

1. Remove the coffee capsule from the Nespresso.

2. Now empty the capsule container and the drip tray. Rinse out both.
3. Fill the descaling agent and half a liter of water into the machine's water tank. You can also first dissolve the agent in water and then pour in the mixture.
4. Now place a vessel under the coffee outlet that holds at least 0.6 l.
5. Lift the lever above the capsule feed tube. Slide the filter into the machine instead of a capsule.
6. Now turn on the krups. Press the buttons for a cup of coffee at the same time. Hold down these two buttons for 3 seconds.
7. Then press the coffee button to allow the descaling solution to flow through. Stop the process when the water tank is empty by pressing the button again.
8. Fill the solution back into the water tank. Press the button for coffee again. Rinse out the water tank as soon as the solution has run through.
9. Fill with fresh water. Remove the filter and rinse it. Rinse the XN 2005 by pressing the coffee button again.
10. Now press the power switch and the coffee button together again for 3 seconds. So the machine switches back to normal mode.

Now the coffee should be nice and hot again and taste good.
