How to submit a cash on delivery shipment
- First go to your post office and buy the "Cash on Delivery" set in advance for EUR 2.40. You will receive a ready-made set with a cash on delivery stamp, collection receipt and the section for your documents. Take to safety also a free parcel label if you don't have one at home.
- Carefully pack your package at home. Remember that the package should withstand a fall from a height of at least 1 meter undamaged.
- First fill in the normal package label as usual and stick it on the lower right quarter of the package.
- Now fill in the cash on delivery stamp. There you enter the money in euros that the recipient has to pay to the deliverer. This is a 2 Euro cash on delivery fee in addition to the price of the item. If you would like to receive 50 euros from the recipient, enter 52 euros on this cash on delivery stamp. This stamp and the amount serve as a guide for the delivery person, who can see at a glance how much money he has to collect. Now stick the cash on delivery stamp on the upper left quarter of the parcel.
- Then take the white and red debt collection slip and fill it out. In the first line, enter your full name with your first and last name, just as you are at your financial institution. In the 2. Line comes your account data consisting of the German account number and bank code. The line below is for the name of your financial institution.
- Now enter in the 4th Line the amount in euros that you would like to receive yourself. Please note that you have to enter the decimal place yourself. It is best to start at the back with the cents and draw a thick comma yourself. Nothing can go wrong this way.
- Please indicate the intended use below. What you write in these lines will then appear in front of the amount on your bank statement. Write clearly so that the postal officials can correctly include everything in the transfer. Attach the collection receipt to the parcel as far to the left as possible using a self-adhesive transparent bag - it is also available free of charge from the post office.
- You also transfer the most important data on the receipt for your documents. The barcode for shipment tracking is already imprinted. It should be the same barcode as on the debt collection receipt and the cash on delivery stamp.
- Then go back to your post office and hand in the package like this. You now only have to pay the postage for the package because you have already paid the cash on delivery.
