Special problems with rapeseed beetles
- Rapeseed beetles normally live in rapeseed and are inherently quite insensitive to insecticides. They would have to attack him with heavy artillery guns. You may get a suitable insecticide from a rapeseed farmer or a Raiffeisen branch.
- Usual insect sprays are of little use and the sprays that help against the beetle should not be used in the home.

Help against pollen beetle in the apartment
The adult rapeseed beetle feeds on bee pollen and occasionally eats some types of flowers. Damage to live with. Unfortunately, it lays its eggs in the flowers and the larvae eat the flowers from the inside. So they should drive the rapeseed beetle out of the apartment.
- The rapeseed beetle is usually brought in with wildflowers. So be very careful not to bring bouquets of wildflowers with small black bugs or buds that are rotten into the apartment.
- If the beetle is already in the apartment, you can attract it with yellow containers in which you put detergent. The beetle loves yellow colors and flies to the vessels. He drowns in the washing-up liquid. Unfortunately, he is not liable on yellow boards. Experiment with different yellow containers until you find one that the rapeseed beetle likes.
- Cut off the infected flowers and buds from the houseplants and dispose of them in the household waste. This is how you prevent the beetles from growing.
- To the safety you can remove all houseplants from the apartment until there are no more bugs. But that shouldn't be necessary.
- If you don't have a rape field near your home, there is hardly any mass infestation in your home. Since the beetles only go on special flowers, they usually die on their own, but you should still use them window fitted with fly screens and simply vacuum up the bugs in the apartment.
