Log out and deactivate on Twitter

At the internet service Twitter you can either temporarily log out or your Account permanently deactivate.

• When you log out, you simply end the current session, so you have to log in again in order to be able to use the functions of your Twitter account again.
• If you deactivate your Twitter account, it will be permanently deleted after a waiting period of 30 days, so that you can no longer log in with your access data, but create a new account if necessary have to.
• During these 30 days, all of your data will be saved by Twitter so that you can undo the deactivation of your account within this period.
• To do this, all you need to do is log in to Twitter with your access data, after which you can use your account as before.

Permanently delete your Twitter account

If you no longer want to use your Twitter account, you can log out permanently in just a few steps.

1. To do this, call first Twitter and log in.
2. If you're signed in to Twitter, you'll find a navigation bar at the top. In the right area there is a button on which you can see a gear with an arrow. Click on this and on the second entry from the bottom "Settings".
3. At the very end of the following page, click the link entitled "Deactivate my account".
4. You can now find out more about the deactivation function on Twitter, for example reading that after deactivation you have 30 days to reactivate your account. At the very bottom you will find a blue button that says "Deactivate @ ...". Click on this.
5. Now you just have to enter your Twitter password to confirm and click on "Deactivate account".
