There are many ready-made variants for vanilla pudding from the cup or - to mix yourself - from the bag. It is, however, something special, the bright one pudding to make yourself. The recipe presented here is very simple and you don't have to be a professional to succeed. The preparation time is around twenty minutes and the ingredients listed here are sufficient for four good servings.

Homemade custard recipe

  1. To make vanilla pudding yourself, first mix the sugar and cornstarch.
  2. Then give ten tablespoons milk add and stir everything together well until a viscous mixture is formed.
  3. Then bring the remaining milk to the boil. This is the most complicated part because milk likes to burn. Either you set the stove to a very low setting and keep stirring the milk while it is heating, or you put a thin layer of sugar in the saucepan before the milk, which caramelises at the bottom and so the milk before it burns protects.
  4. Add the vanilla extract to the warming milk and stir it in well.

  6. While the milk is boiling, separate two Eggs. The best way to do this is to crack open the eggs and carefully drain the egg whites into a bowl while holding back the yolk with a large spoon.
  7. Then add the two egg yolks to the cornstarch, flour and milk mixture and stir everything together.
  8. Then stir the mixture into the hot milk and bring it to the boil again while stirring.
  9. Then beat the egg whites until stiff. This works better if you add a tiny pinch of salt and use a chilled mixing bowl.
  10. Then fold the stiff egg white into the cooked pudding.

Serve Either warm your custard straight away or leave it in the refrigerator cooling down.
