What does HelloFresh offer?

HelloFresh now offers so-called cooking boxes in 19 countries worldwide, which you can subscribe to. These are packages in which you select recipes and the necessary ingredients, accurate to the gram.

If you would like to register with HelloFresh to receive these boxes, you can first enter the number of Dishesthat you want delivered per week, between 2 and 5, and the number of people you order for, between 2 and 4.

You will then be shown a selection of recipes from the respective weekly menu, from which you can also manually select the contents of your cooking box each week.

In addition to the main dishes that you will cook, you can also order starters and desserts. These are often delivered ready to eat with a fixed number of portions.

You can change all the decisions you make in one week for the next week and thus always provide additional variety in your cooking boxes.

HelloFresh also offers numerous recipes from past boxes on its website for you to buy and cook for yourself.

How much do the boxes cost?

Each cooking box contains a bag of ingredients for each recipe, a cool bag in which all the ingredients that need to be refrigerated Ingredients for all the recipes of the week are kept cold and an envelope with the recipes of the Week. The shipping costs are always €5.99, but are already included in the total costs mentioned above.

How does the payment work?

The price of your cooking box will be debited in the week of delivery. You can pay by PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Existing customers also have the option of ordering the boxes on account with Klarna.

HelloFresh automatically uses the payment method you specified when you placed your first order for each subsequent delivery. If you want to change this, you can do this at any time in your customer account.

However, please note that every time you register a new payment method, €1 will be charged to confirm that the payment is also working properly. However, this amount will be credited back to you afterwards.

How are the cooking boxes delivered?

HelloFresh delivers to any address in Germany. As a rule, the responsible suppliers are UPS and DPD, but the company also has its own delivery fleet in selected cities, which is to be further expanded in the future. Hamburg, Cologne and Munich are among the cities where you can already have your meal kits delivered directly by HelloFresh.

Note that for delivery to island addresses, a delivery surcharge of €10 will be added to the final price. Delivery to packing stations is not possible.

The cooking boxes are delivered once a week, so when you actually cook which recipe is up to you. Depending on where you live, you can choose from different delivery days and time slots. However, for particularly busy delivery dates, a delivery surcharge will apply, increasing the overall cost of your box.

If you are not available at the agreed delivery date, you can issue a parking permit. The cooling system in the box is designed to ensure that the Groceries nevertheless hold on until you can put them away in the evening.

Can HelloFresh be terminated?

HelloFresh is a subscription that you sign up for, but there is no minimum term. So you can cancel at any time.

If you only want to pause your orders for a while, for example because you are on vacation, you can do that at any time. If you then want deliveries again, you can simply activate them again.

Are the cooking boxes the more sustainable alternative to the supermarket?

HelloFresh has set itself the goal of always bringing fresh and high-quality ingredients from selected suppliers to the end consumer. This should work via a supply chain that is as short and direct as possible. The company hopes that this will save CO2 emissions.

All CO2 emissions that cannot be avoided were calculated and compensated for by financial support for various climate protection projects.

When it comes to the ingredients that end up in the cooking boxes, attention is paid to regionality and seasonality as far as possible. The fresh products should end up on the consumer's plate within eight days at the latest. In a regular supermarket this can take up to 21 days.

Because the ingredients in the cooking boxes are delivered to the gram, less food is thrown away and more is actually eaten. Among other things, this can lead to a reduced CO2 footprint compared to conventional shopping in the supermarket.

HelloFresh promises to only pack what actually needs to be packed and to use the most sustainable packaging possible. In view of all these measures taken, the company claims to be the world's first climate-neutral provider of cooking boxes.
