How to play video files

You can play an MKV file with many different video players.

1. To do this, download a video player that supports this format (and the corresponding codec). For example, the VLC media player. But the MPlayer also supports the format as well as various DIVX players.
2. Sometimes it is necessary to install an appropriate codec. In this case, use the codec package from Xvid.org and install it in addition to the player. To do this, download the current version under Xvid Codec in the "Download" area. Alternatively, you can use the Xvid-Movies download page and run the exe file.
3. Now open the MKV file in the respective player and play the video.
