XML is the abbreviation for Extensible Markup Language. This is English and in German means something like expandable markup language. XML documents are particularly suitable for exchanging data between different computer systems. This means that an XML document which is based on a WindowsComputer was created on a computer with someone else operating system is represented exactly as it is. There are several ways to open an XML document.
This is how you can open an XML document
- Usually the editor, which is part of every Windows system, is sufficient to open XML documents. The editor cannot, however, be particularly large Open files.
- You can use Microsoft Word or Open Office Open Writer. There are of course various other word processing programs that you can use to open XML documents.
- If you not only want to open the XML documents, but also edit them, it is advisable to use a special XML editor. Various programs can be downloaded free of charge from the Internet. The advantage of an XML editor is that the syntax is highlighted in color. This makes editing the XML documents much easier for you.
