How to properly mix the color

Mixing brown can be done in a variety of ways, as there are very different shades of brown. Rely on your eye and it is best to keep adding a little color at a time until you get the shade you want.

  3. Use all primary colors. Basically, every shade of brown contains all of these colors. If you were to leave out just one, you could just mix purple, orange or green tones.

  4. The right mix. Depending on the correct mixing ratio of the three basic colors, you get different shades of brown. You can use black and white to darken or lighten the colors.

  5. Start with a light color. Now mix the three basic colors together, using only a little blue, but a lot of yellow and red. More yellow results in ocher-colored, light tones, more red results in a red-brown color mixture. It's best to start with yellow, then add red and later blue.

As you can see, it is not difficult to mix brown because brown is always created when you mix many colors. You can also see this in the wash water for the brushes. After you've painted for a while, the cleaning water will mostly be brown in color.
