How to glue motifs into the pop-up cards
- Take a cardboard box, cut it to the desired card size and fold it in half once.
- Cut out the motifs from wrapping paper or a picture.
- Place the gift card in front of you so that it is folded up and with the folded edge facing down in front of you.
- Place the designs where they should be later. Mark the positions.
- Now draw two lines 1 cm apart on the marking. The distance can also be wider, depending on the motif. The lines should be the same length but not protrude beyond the subject.
- Cut in the lines with scissors.
- Unfold the card halfway and bend the supports inward.
- Now you can design the background and then stick the motifs on.

How to make a gift card with incised motifs
It becomes more complex if you cut the designs directly into the pop-up cards. On the other hand, such gift cards look particularly beautiful.
- Take a cardboard box and cut it to the size you want.
- To help, draw a thin line in the middle with the pencil.
- Paint on the desired motif. It is important that the motif is on the center line. The first time you are making a pop-up card, you should only choose a simple design. Later you can make such gift cards with more complicated pictures.
- Measure the distance from the bottom edge to the center line. Take this measurement and measure it from the top edge of the design upwards. Draw a thin guide there.
- Now draw two vertical lines from the motif to the auxiliary line. The distance between the lines results from the upper width of the motif.
- Now cut out the two verticals and the sides of the motif with a cutter.
- Now carefully crease the card. You should crease the motif along the lower edge. It will be easier if you place a ruler at the kinks beforehand and run along it with the scissors.
