  2. If you want a more elaborately crafted bag, sew a lining. You can see the inside of the bag a lot, especially with the classic open shoulder bags. A neon-colored yellow for a brown bag on the outside is good, also magenta for the inside and outside a nice deep red are two colors that go well with each other. But sewing a lining is also easy.
  3. Perhaps you take two A4 sheets of paper that you lay next to each other on the fabric on the narrower side, then you have the pattern for a small shoulder bag. If you do not have the usual sewing chalk to go around the leaves and to mark the cutting line on the fabric, you can also use soap scraps reduced to narrow flakes.
  4. Cut the fabric for the outside.

  6. Put the outside of the bag right sides together and next to one another - at the top of the narrow side then the lining, also right sides together, so that a tube is in front of you. Now sew - you have the left side in front of your eyes - the outside of the pocket and the pocket lining in the middle, about at a distance of one centimeter, even with a double seam, and then the lining on the two long sides and the two long sides of the outer fabric. But leave an opening near the bottom of the bag through which you can put the hose sewn and you can see the inside so that you can pull through the right side see. Then sew the small opening shut by hand.
  7. Then iron the bag smooth.
  8. For the straps, cut a strip of fabric that is about three times as wide as the lanyard should be at the end. In the case of nine centimeters, then iron a strap that is 3 centimeters over 3 centimeters. Then iron the remaining 3 centimeters over the two layers so that the edge is about a centimeter is tucked in because you overcast it at the same time and conceal the edge that threatens to fray lies. 9. Now sew the straps on the inside of the bag. It looks cleaner when the end of the straps disappears between the fabric for the outside and the lining. To do this, separate the seam with a seam ripper so that you can insert the strap through it and then just sew over it - several times, because the bag needs a lot at this point endure.
  10. So that the edge is firmer at the top, simply stitch a seam about 2 millimeters apart over the lining and the outer fabric.
