Make honey shampoo yourself

Since the ingredients in many shampoos are now so confusing and often damage the hair more, you can also make a shampoo yourself. How about variations of honey shampoo?

It's actually very easy if you want to make your own shampoo. Honey-egg shampoo cares for your hair and doesn't cost much.

Make your own shampoo

  1. First you need to thoroughly whisk the egg.
  2. Then stir in the honey. If this is not liquid enough, you can warm it up briefly in the microwave, but only until it can be stirred in well and is not too hot. Otherwise you will have scrambled honey, which you certainly don't intend.
  3. Then stir in the oil. If you cannot buy jojoba or almond oil, sunflower or olive oil are also suitable.
  4. Once the honey, egg and oil have been mixed well, you can add the lemon juice. Adding it too early can cause the egg to flake out.
  5. Do-it-yourself hair treatments

Hair treatments from the drugstore are expensive, although the ingredients are often anything but ...

  6. Your shampoo is then ready to use.
  7. Massage it into damp hair and leave it on for a few minutes.
  8. Then wash off the honey shampoo well with plenty of warm water.
  9. Don't worry about the oil sticking your hair together. This does not happen because the egg contains active washing substances that wash out the fat again.
  10. However, the homemade shampoo does not foam.

Add other ingredients besides honey

Depending on how long your hair is, you can also experiment with the ingredients:

  • Use two egg yolks instead of one or add more oil.
  • You can also stir in a teaspoon of natural yoghurt.
  • You can also swap the lemon juice for beer or mustard.
  • If you would also like to have fragrance in your shampoo, you can work with aromatic oils.
  • If you want to rinse your hair afterwards, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar per 1 liter of cold water is enough to create an acidic conditioner.

Feel free to try the ingredients until you have mixed the perfect shampoo for you. Since all hairs differ in structure, there is rarely a universal recipe, but only a basic variant.
