Preparation of the medals

  • First, draw the number of circles you need for your purposes on the cardboard, preferably a medal for each child. The diameter should be between 5-7 cm. Cut this out.
  • Then draw exactly as many circles in the same size as you have prepared cardboard circles on the gold foil and cut them out.
  • Now make the same number of gold circles, but these should be approx. 1 cm larger than the previous circles.
  • The next step is to cut the ribbon to hang the medals. The length should be around 30 cm, but you can measure this on a child beforehand. The tape should go comfortably over your head, but not be too long either.
  • Make a medal - this is how it works

Whether for the sports club or a children's birthday party - medals are a nice ...

  • Now glue one end of the ribbon to one side of the medal, leaving it approx. 2-3 cm on the cardboard and attach the other end to the other side of the coin, exactly level with the other end.
  • After that, coat one side of the medal with glue and attach the gold paper, the diameter of which is a little larger, to it fold over the edges so that when the second film is glued on, the edges are also glued over and thus a tidy finish arises.
  • If the gold foil should protrude in one or more places, you can clean it up with the scissors.

Tinker the ornament yourself

  • Now you can design the medals according to your wishes and ideas. You can either apply numbers with a waterproof pen, but you can also press them into the foil with a wider object. Furthermore, you can stick on small motifs, which z. B. show what kind of competitions have taken place.

Have fun tinkering the medals yourself and at the competitions.
