- The first thing you should do is verify that the delivery is from the right supplier and the goods you need. It is important to ensure that the delivery addresses and sender correspond to the production goods you expect.
- You can easily check this on the delivery note. Then the quantity, number of items or weight should be checked when receiving the goods. In other words: Depending on the type of packaging and the quantity of the delivered goods, you have various options to check whether the quantities ordered are actually available.
- The agreed time is also very important. If it is a deadline delivery that was not delivered on time to the receiving department, the exact time must be determined and confirmed. In this way, the supplier can then be held liable for production downtimes if necessary.
What to watch out for with packaging
- If you have now checked the time and the quantity of the delivered production goods, attention must also be paid to the integrity of the delivery when receiving the goods. So take a close look at the boxes or packages and, if necessary, complain about defective or missing packaging materials.
- Depending on how big the packaging damage is, you should consider whether the delivery can be accepted at all. The same applies, of course, in the event that you discover damage to the production goods.
- You should note that when checking, you also inspect goods that are stored at the bottom or placed hidden. Only when everything has been checked can you confirm the receipt of goods with a signature on the delivery note and have the production goods brought to the appropriate production lines.
