Back up passwords from Google Chrome

Your log-in data is saved in Chrome in your profile filed. It is not possible to export this directly from the web browser, so you have to save the profile folder on your hard drive.

  1. Close your web browser.
  2. Open Windows Explorer, click on "Organize", "View" and tick the box next to "Show hidden files, folders and drives".
  3. Chrome: read out passwords - this is how it works

The Internet browser Google Chrome can, if desired, change passwords and login data ...

  4. Now follow the path C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome.
  5. Now copy the "User Data" folder and save it.
  6. If you've reinstalled your operating system and Google Chrome, just paste this folder back in the same place and overwrite existing files. Your data is completely restored, it doesn't matter how many profiles you have created.

If you just want to export your bookmarks without passwords, click the Settings icon in the upper right corner, Bookmarks, Bookmark Manager and click Organize. Select "Export bookmarks to HTML file", choose a directory and you have saved your bookmarks.
