Apply for transfer as a nurse
Nurses also want to change their careers. To do this, the nurse needs a transfer application in which she informally applies for the transfer.
Submit an informal transfer application
- You would like to change your career, maybe to get a taste of the work of another station and to develop yourself further. Perhaps you would prefer to work in the pediatric ward or in surgery instead of oncology. Then you, as a nurse, have to apply for a transfer.
- You can do that quite informally. Your name, address, ward and address should be in the head of the letter.
- Don't forget the date. This is very important for the timing of your transfer.
- In the subject, write "Please transfer to ward ...".
- This is followed by the salutation. You will surely know your contact person. So use the name too.
- Write the following in the application: I hereby request that I be transferred from ward... to ward!!! After many years of work on the ward... I want to develop myself professionally and broaden my horizons. I would like to gain an insight into fields of activity that will be useful to me on my future career path. Thank you for your understanding."
- End the letter with “Kind regards” and your signature.
- Hand in the letter at the personnel office or send it there by internal mail.

Act responsibly as a nurse
- Not every station likes to lose qualified staff to another station. Before you apply for a transfer, speak to your immediate supervisor on your ward.

- Do not apply for a nurse transfer until you have spoken to your supervisor.
