Alice box: forgot password
Have you forgotten an Alice box and the password? This is not a problem. You can easily reset all settings with the reset. Below you will find out how to proceed.
If you forgot the password
- Do you have an Alice box and have forgotten your password? This of course means that you can no longer make any changes to the settings.
- By pressing the reset button on the box, you reset the box to the delivery state. The password is canceled.
- You will find the reset button to the left of the USB socket. It is also labeled "Reset". So you can't miss it.
- Now press the reset button with the help of a ballpoint pen and hold the button down for about ten seconds.
- The box restarts and is ready for operation again when the info LED lights up red. You can now make all settings again and assign a new password.

Assign a password to the Alice box
You can use the setup wizard to be able to assign a new password.
- To do this, enter "alice.box" in the address bar of your browser.
- A window opens in which you click the "Next" button.
- On the left you will see a bar in which you go to "Password".
- In the "New password" field, enter your password with which you would like to protect access to your Alice-Box.
- Enter it again in the "Password confirmation" field to confirm it.
- Confirm your entry with "Save" and the box is now password protected.
Should you forego protected access in the future, uncheck the "Protect access" box. Remember, however, that your access is then freely accessible and can be used by unauthorized persons. If you are afraid of forgetting the password for the Alice box again, the best thing to do is to write it down and file the slip of paper in your files.
