Send data via TS3
Teamspeak 3 (TS3) is the successor to Teamspeak 2. It is a voice conference software that enables the user to communicate with other users free of charge. Only the TS server operator usually incurs low costs. Since TS3 it is also possible to send data directly via the client, but how?
How do I configure TS3 for this?
To be able to send data via TS3, you or the TS server admin can make some settings for this. The configuration for this can be made directly in the client.
- In the client, please click on "Extras" in the selection above to lay the foundation for sending data via TS3
- In the drop-down menu that appears, you then decide on the item "Edit virtual server". Alternatively, you can also use the shortcut "CTRL + Shift + V".
- a window is opening. Here you can now click on the "More" button at the bottom left to expand the selection options.
- Now please click on the "Transfers" tab. You can now make the required settings here.
- You can now set the bandwidth limit for upload and download speeds here. “Quota” stands for the permitted traffic. Make sure you do not exceed the permitted traffic. For both the bandwidth and the quota, the "-1" stands for unlimited.
- When you have set everything here, please click on "Apply". You have now completed the required settings.

Send data via Teamspeak 3
You don't have to be a server admin to upload data (if it's enabled), but how does it all work?
- Now please click with the right mouse button on a channel.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, this time choose “Open file browser”.
- Another window will now open. Here you now have the option of uploading and downloading data or files.
- Please click on the field with the green arrow pointing upwards if you want to upload data to the TS3 server. The matching counterpart is the down arrow for downloading data.
You are now able to upload data or files to the TS3 server and someone else can download these files if needed.
