- Create a sunflower picture with the children. Each child receives a large sheet of paper and you provide the materials - such as crepe paper in yellow and various shades of green - as well as sunflower seeds (unpeeled).
- Many small sunflower flowers are cut from the yellow paper, arranged in a circle and glued on. Put enough glue in the middle of the sunflower and sprinkle the sunflower seeds on the glue surface.
- You can use green crepe paper to form a stem and leaves that you glue onto the paper too!
- Instead of using sunflower seeds, it is also possible to glue a picture of the child in the middle of the flower.
- Bake small sunflower buns with the children: To do this, warm 175 ml milk and mix in sugar, flour and yeast. Let the mixture rest for approx. "Walk" in a glass for 30 minutes. Meanwhile you can mix the remaining flour, milk and salt in a bowl.
- Then add the yeast milk and knead everything into a dough that you let rise for another 15 minutes. Each child can then shape their own bun that they roll in sunflower seeds. The rolls must be placed on a greased baking sheet at 230 ° for approx. Bake for 25-30 minutes!

Plant flowers in the nursery
A highlight for them children it is when everyone grows their own sunflowers that are later planted in the garden! Therefore start a planting campaign on the topic:
- Each child receives a clay pot with a diameter of approx. 9 cm and 3-4 sunflower seeds.
- The clay pot can be labeled with your own name or even painted with poster colors.
- Have each child put some granules in the bottom of the pot, which will serve as drainage. Then earth is filled into the pot and the kernels are placed in it. These are only very lightly covered with earth.
- Place the pots on the windowsill, but do not expose them to direct sunlight. Keep the soil slightly moist all the time.
After a few weeks, the children will be very happy when the seedlings sprout and the flowers grow. If you plant the sunflowers in the kindergarten garden later, the children can keep watching the plants!
