Change the background design in Mozilla Firefox

  1. The change of the Mozilla Firefox background design is done in Firefox itself, via the add-on management. To do this, select "Add-ons" under "Extras". Here you can already see the "Appearance" area. All of the themes that you have installed so far for your version of Mozilla Firefox will appear here. However, to install new themes you need to do something different.
  2. Select "Find Add-ons". Here, scroll the window all the way down and select the option "Show all themes and personas" on the right-hand side. You will land on a new page that offers you a wide range of new background designs.
  3. You can now search for a new background design in the individual categories as you wish. If there is one thing that particularly appeals to you, you can click on it to go to the relevant detail page. From here you can arrange the installation of your new background design for Mozilla Firefox.
  4. The "Continue to download" button will take you to the last overview page before the new design is installed. You will then see the end-user agreements of the respective designer there and must agree to them with the "Accept and install" button. The design is then automatically integrated into Firefox.
  5. After restarting Firefox, the new design is already implemented. You can now switch back and forth between your background designs using the add-on management under "Appearance".

Note that most themes are only available for Firefox on Windows. Mozilla Firefox versions on the Mac cannot be updated with new designs in most cases.
