Your home office will only work if you master the pitfalls that come with it. After all, office sleep, refrigerator traps and other pitfalls are lurking. - Of course, it makes a difference whether you work from home as a part-time or full-time job. In any case, you can only work part-time in your free time. In the other case (full-time self-employment), the following applies: Start your working day as early as possible. You can orientate yourself on the usual office hours.
- The best advice is wasted if you are too individualist. If you have the best ideas at midnight and after that, you have to work at that time.
- Since the Internet does not impose any time restrictions, you as a home jobber can freely decide where and when you want to work. However, working during the day is healthier. Also, communicating over the phone with the majority of people is probably better around this time.
- You may need to inform your employer if you take up a secondary job. You must state the income earned from working from home in your tax return. You must state your tax number on invoices.
Incidentally, working from home does not always equate to freelance work (content writer, online editor, translator). Inquire at the trade office whether you also need a trade license (eBay seller, web designer) in addition to reporting to the tax office.
