Learn to write in squiggles
No matter whether you are designing elegant invitations, designing a greeting card for a very special person or a letter to your Dearest (s) want to write: If you do this in squiggles, even a simple piece of text looks like a whole trace more solemn.

This is how you learn to write in flourishes
- A font consists of a base, an ascender and a descender. An "a", for example, lies completely on the base, while a "g" has a descender and a "b" an ascender.
- For a regular and elegant font, it is important that the base of a text is always roughly the same size. You can practice this with a lined exercise book for elementary school students, in which the writing field is divided into three lines. Make sure that the two edges of your letter base always touch the top and bottom of the middle row.
- Now look at the descenders of your letters. If you emphasize this, that is, make it particularly strong and stretch it downwards, it gives your typeface a festive touch. However, you should not overdo it and pull the lengths down too far, otherwise there is a risk that your writing will appear intentional and unnatural.
- Ultimately, it is also advisable to put your squiggle font as a whole at an angle, tilting it slightly to the right. To do this, you can either lay your exercise book in front of you or simply move your hand slightly offset - depending on what is easiest for you personally! In addition, many manuscripts are inclined a little to the right by themselves, so that it will be particularly easy for these scribes. The same applies here: Do not overdo the inclination! The main characteristic of a beautiful font is that it is easy to read and beautiful to look at at the same time. All alienating and unnatural effects always hinder legibility if they are executed too strongly.
- Now it's time to practice, practice, practice! When you've finally found your flourish solemn enough for a special occasion you can start adding the text you have chosen on, for example, a greeting card transfer.

- Think carefully about what your greeting card should look like in squiggles and note how many words you have each fit in a line and how the respective line breaks make sense and at the same time aesthetically beautiful permit.
- Draw a thin line on your map with a pencil. This is intended to ensure that your writing will later be horizontal on the card and not sag down or up. Of course, this auxiliary line is carefully erased after completing the map.
- Now the big moment has come: transfer your newly rehearsed squiggles onto your greeting card! You will see: This makes the card look a lot more elegant!
