How to make a lucky pig
- Mix the wallpaper paste in the bowl with water according to the manufacturer's instructions and let it steep.
- Inflate a balloon to the desired lucky pig size.
- Tear newsprint into strips or larger snippets.
- Dip a piece of paper into the paste at a time, place it on the balloon and smooth it out with your fingers.
- Continue until the entire balloon is covered. Then form the next layer. Put at least 8-10 layers of paper on top of the balloon like this.
- Now you can start to shape the snout, legs and ears from pasted paper. Create the approximate shape from the mass, glue it to the appropriate place and then cover it with the following layers of paper.
- After another at least 5 layers, attach the curly tail made of twisted, pasted paper to the rear of the lucky pig.
- Then you should cover the whole pig again with 5 layers of paper to stabilize everything.
- Let the whole thing dry well, at least overnight.
- After drying, you can paint the lucky pig individually and - after drying again - add a bow if necessary. Complete!
