When he no longer opens tabs

If Firefox no longer opens tabs with the key combination "CTRL + T" or with the "+" and the menu under "File", proceed as follows.

  • Under "Extras" and "Settings" click on the tab "Tabs" and check whether there is a tick next to "Open new tab instead of new window". If not, do one and try the tabs again. If there is already a tick or it doesn't work, it is best to do a complete reinstallation of Firefox. To do this, first uninstall it by selecting it in the "Control Panel" under "Software" or "Programs and Features" and uninstalling it.
  • To be on the safe side, you should also delete everything from Mozilla in the registry editor so that no data remains. To do this, enter the command "regedit" under "Start" and "Search". Open the window and delete the "Mozilla" folder under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" in the "Software". When finished, restart your computer.
  • Download the current version of the Mozilla Firefox from the Internet. Save the file on your PC and then click to install it. To do this, follow the instructions.
  • Unfortunately, you will have to enter your personal settings again afterwards and reload and install add-ons. But it will no longer be the case that Firefox does not open tabs.
