Change the displayed time

Skype uses your computer's time to display the current time. Therefore you have to change the system time of your computer so that you can also display a different time in Skype.

1. To do this, right-click on the time that you can see in the lower right-hand corner of your Windows taskbar.
2. Then click on "Change date / time" almost at the top.
3. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click on the "Change date and time ..." button.
4. Now enter the desired time below the clock.

5. Then click "OK" twice in a row to save the changed settings.

Now you can see the newly set time both in the lower right corner of your Windows taskbar and in Skype.

Change time zone on Skype

With Skype you cannot change the time directly, but you can change the displayed time zone with just a few clicks.

1. Start Skype and sign in with your Skype login details, unless you are automatically signed in.
2. As soon as Skype has started, click on "Skype" in the menu on the far left.
3. Then select under "profile"at the bottom, select the" Edit profile "entry.
4. Either a new window opens in the "Compact mode" view option or the standard view of your current window is switched to profile editing in the right-hand area.
5. Now scroll down a little until you get to the entry "Time".
6. The current time is displayed here. In addition, the option "Computer time zone" is selected by default. Click the drop-down list next to "Time" or next to the current time, and then select the time zone you want.

The set time zone is then automatically adopted. That means you don't have to click a "Save" button.
