This is how you formulate the application
- The application for school exemption is to be directed to the class teacher or the director, in accordance with the legislation of your federal state. In many schools there are special forms that you just have to fill out. You can get this form from the school secretariat.
- If your school does not have a form, you must submit the application informally. The following information must be noted in any case: first and last name of the student as well as his class. You should also include your full address on the application. The date of the application is also included, as is the information on the legal guardian.
- After a few blank lines, enter the full address of the school including the Names of the director or the class teacher.
- Formulate the application for school exemption as follows: Dear Mr. XYZ, we hereby apply to have our child from... until... get rid of school.
- Then also provide a brief reason and mention, for example, that on this day the Grandpa's funeral or sister's wedding is taking place and your child must be there on this occasion should be.
- Of course, you should use the greeting "Sincerely" or "Sincerely" and the two names of the legal guardians complete, as the signature is usually is quite illegible.

Application rejected by the school principal - further procedure
- If the application for school exemption has been refused, you have to send your child to school for better or worse. Of course, you have the option of taking legal action against the director's decision. Whether this lawsuit has any chance of success remains to be seen. In any case, it will not necessarily improve the relationship between teachers and your child.
- If you do not send your child to school on the requested day, this can have consequences for you and your offspring. These can be of a financial nature - for example by paying a fine - but they can also have serious consequences for your child's further school career. There have been cases in which the children concerned were not allowed to continue attending this school.
