If the principle is clear to you, you can do without all aids and convert your thumb and index finger into tweezers.

  1. Press the thumb and index fingernail together firmly at the base of the tick
  2. Pull the tick straight up and out without loosening the grip.
  3. If your dog puts up with it, it will make things easier for you if you slowly pull the tick out of the skin. But don't forget: don't turn and don't let go!

Don't forget to disinfect the wound! If you don't have a disinfectant on hand, a drop of honey or a little garlic will do.
