Special moss destroyers are available from specialist retailers, but you can also remove annoying moss from your terraces, paths and stone stairs with simple home remedies. It is true that the use of home remedies is often a bit more work than the use of chemicals, but in most cases it is also cheaper and at the same time more environmentally friendly.

This is how you get rid of the moss

  • You can remove the moss with a spatula. For this it is best not to start in the middle, but to start from one side. This enables you to work your way under the moss and gradually uproot it.
  • If the procedure with the spatula is too difficult and lengthy for you, you can use a simple trick to make this gardening work easier. To do this, soak old towels in vinegar essence. These are then placed over the areas overgrown with moss for about 24 hours. After this time, the lichens can be removed more easily with a spatula than before. Instead of vinegar essence, it is also possible to use simple table vinegar for this.
  • If you work with the pressure washer, you can remove the moss without much physical exertion. The high water pressure rigorously uproots the plants and washes them away.
  • A pressure washer that works with hot water is even more efficient. If you don't have such a device, you can borrow it from almost any hardware store for a small fee.
