• There was previously a vote on the Internet in which the 15 most popular terms were voted for by around 40,000 people. Then a jury made up of young people of different ages and journalists, with the help of Langenscheidt Verlag, chose the winner - "Swag".
• The word "swag" comes from the song of an American rapper, Soulja Boy. Soulja Boy achieved average popularity in 2009 with “Turn my Swag on”.
