Cafissimo: problems with descaling
When the Cafissimo machine rattles, rattles and gurgles and the coffee cup is difficult to fill, it is high time: the machine needs to be descaled. But modern all-rounders may require a little more time-consuming cleaning than the "good old" standard machine.

Coffee machines should be descaled every few months. The Cafissimo machine helps you not to forget about regular cleaning. If the "Water tank empty" indicator flashes three times and this repeats, you know that the machine needs to be descaled.
- Pour the descaler into the water tank (you can find commercially available products in the drugstore or supermarket). If you use a powder descaler, dilute it with 1 liter of warm water. - Before starting the process, place a bowl under the spout of the appliance. This is where you collect the liquid.

Problems with cleaning
- A classic mistake is the following: Check if there is a capsule in the device and remove it if necessary. During cleaning, the capsule holder should be empty in the device.
- Also, don't forget to close the machine's steam valve.
- If, despite the descaling, problems still occur, such as unusual noises or a reduced amount of coffee, the Cafissimo machine may have to be descaled again. This is especially true if more than three months have passed since the last cleaning or if you fill the machine with very hard water.
