One of the most popular ice cream specialties is the Amarena cup. But what to do when the ice cream parlors are closed? You can also make an Amarena mug yourself at home without having to go to the ice cream parlor.

What you need:

  • 3 scoops of walnut ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons of Amarena cherries
  • 100g whipped cream
  • 0.1L amaretto
  • 1 glass of morello cherries
  • 350g sugar

Prepare an Amarena mug yourself

  1. First, take the walnut ice cream. This forms the basis for the Amarena cup. You can of course also use another one ice cream take if you don't like walnut ice cream. Use an ice cream spoon to form a ball out of the ice cream. You can also take a tablespoon. Place the ball in an appropriately sized glass or bowl. Repeat the process three times. If you wish, you can also use more balls for your Amarena cup if you have enough space in the vessel.
  2. The next part of the Amarena mug is the Whipped cream. To do this, whip 100 grams of cream until it is stiff. Then spread the cream generously over the ice cream scoops.
  3. To complete the Amarena cup perfectly, you need the Amarena cherries. Place two tablespoons of the Amarena cherries over the top of the whipped cream and on the edge of the glass or bowl. And already you have an Amarena cup like in the ice cream parlor.

To make an Amarena mug yourself, you cannot do without Amarena cherries. Instead of buying the Amarena cherries ready-made, you can simply prepare the fruit side dish for the Amarena beaker yourself.

  1. First, let the morello cherries drain well. You need that juice not to make amarena cherries. The cherry juice is added water however, dilutes a delicious juice spritzer.

  5. Let the mixture simmer for a quarter of an hour to 20 minutes. Then fill the Amarena cherries into preserving jars.

Once the cherries have cooled, you can use them for a homemade Amarena mug.
