Build a saw table for a jigsaw yourself
Working properly with a jigsaw is often not that easy. Sometimes the workpiece wobbles here, sometimes the workpiece slips there - if you are tired of this way of working, why not build yourself a saw table.
What you need:
- 6 x steel tubes
- 1 x U-iron
- 3 x flat iron
- 1 x welding machine
- 1 x Small Flex
- 1 x steel bracket
- 1 x grinding wheel
Cut the saw table to size
You are building a saw table out of steel.
- Take a 20 cm wide U-iron and cut it to a length of 200 cm. The material thickness is 2 cm and the web height measured on the outside is 10 cm. This U-iron serves as a support for your workpieces.
- Next, cut three flat irons for your saw table. The flat irons have a material thickness of 3 cm and are 50 cm long and 10 cm wide. The legs are then attached to this flat iron from the underside and the U-iron from the top.
- Now cut the legs for your saw table. To do this, cut six tubes with a diameter of 5 cm and a material thickness of 3 mm to a length of 120 cm. These tubes are beveled a little to ensure that the legs are in the best possible position.
- When you have cut all of these pieces, you should free all of the cut edges from the grade. Take a small flex with a sanding disc and pull it briefly over all the edges.

Build the work surface
- Take your U-iron and flex about 2 mm of material at both end points. You do this over a width of 10 cm. When you're done at the ends, do the same thing again exactly in the middle of the U-iron.
- Next, take your flat iron and attach it to your U-iron with small spot welds. The flat irons are spotted at the ground points in such a way that the flat irons protrude equally on both sides of the U-iron.
- After you have brought the flat iron into an angle to the U-iron, you can attach the six legs. The legs are also spot-welded again at one end of the flat iron. When attaching the legs to your saw table, make sure that the legs are correctly rotated.
- The bevels must be attached to the flat iron so that the legs run away from the U-iron at a slight angle. When the legs are spot-welded, you can weld the entire saw table.
When your saw table is fully assembled, you should have it galvanized.
