How to properly care for the sled runners

  1. First use coarse sandpaper for metal to care for your sled runners.
  2. Then sand the runners that have been freed from the coarse rust with fine sandpaper. This removes small rust spots and bumps and makes the surface of the runners nice and smooth.
  3. Then grease the sled runners. All car or bicycle grease is suitable, our grandparents also used lard for this. Greasing prevents new rust from quickly forming. In addition, the thin layer of grease reduces the friction of the sled runners.
