Forgot PIN - what to do?

  • The situation is different if you have not forgotten your ELSTER password, but have not remembered the PIN for your On-line-Portal can remember. You have two options here: registering again or trying it out.
  • If you opted for ELSTER-Basis when registering, your user account will not be blocked, not even after entering the PIN incorrectly three times. You can enter PINs here until you have found your combination or remembered it again.
  • When using a security stick and the registration variant ELSTER-Spezial, the system is blocked after three incorrect PIN entries. This blocking cannot be lifted again and is therefore final.
  • If you cannot remember your PIN even during the basic registration, you have no choice but to register again. However, all previously saved data will then be lost.
