The low-cost airlines literally outdo each other with the offer of cheap flights. The airline Ryanair is also eagerly participating.
What to consider when flying with Ryanair
- Ryanair is an Internet-facing airline. Flights and the services are only cheap if they are booked online using a valid e-mail address. If you book a flight at the airport or by calling the service number, it is often twice as expensive.
- Internet prices are tempting at first glance. Please note, however, that this information is often only the pure flight or Represents transportation price. All additional services such as luggage, seat reservations, airport taxes and processing fees are added to the price shown. Usually you will only find out the total price for the Ryanair flights at the end of the booking shortly before paying.
- You have to book each flight individually, there is no combined low-cost round-trip flat rate.
- There is also no such thing as a "real" ticket. When you confirm your booking, you will receive an email with a reservation number. To check-in on a flight, all you need to do is provide this number.
- Also remember that tempting-sounding departure airports like Frankfurt-Hahn are not necessarily near Frankfurt, but 100 km west of Frankfurt in the Hunsrück.
- The cancellation of a booked flight with Ryanair is also usually not planned.

Cancel a flight with Ryanair
- In the current terms and conditions of Ryanair (as of December 2011) it can be read that it is not possible to cancel booked flights and get back the money already paid. So you inevitably have to let your flight expire and should not do anything, especially since Ryanair does not care about being informed if you are unable to attend the flight.
- However, you can rebook your flights up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. You can either find someone else to fly for you or choose a new departure date. Ryanair can pay for this rebooking with at least 50 euros extra. In the case of a new flight date, you must also bear the difference in the additional costs for the flights.
- Should you cancel your booked flights or Do not even start and therefore let it expire, but then you have the right to claim back the taxes and processing fees that were not used. But Ryanair can also pay for that with a processing fee of 20 euros. In this respect, you will only get a few euros back if the taxes and fees paid are higher than the processing fee.
- In this respect, you only have your own invoice as to whether it is not cheaper to simply book the flight again and simply not take the old flight.
