Occupying stairs is not that difficult

  8. With a stone staircase, you can only do this with a metal rail. After it has also been adjusted, you must lay this exactly on the steps before laying the carpet and mark the holes for the screw connections. Then drill the holes and put a dowel in each one.
  9. After the carpet has been laid, you can put the rail on, punch through the covering at the holes with a punch and screw the rail together.
  10. Never drill through the laid carpet. You would immediately pull the carpet fibers and thus destroy the carpet.

If one side of the stairs is free, you must finally provide the side edges with so-called end rails. You can also attach these with contact adhesive.
