Find the right flooring for the garage
Do you have a new garage or want to renovate an older garage and are still looking for a suitable floor covering for your garage? There are some alternatives for this, the advantages and disadvantages of which should be taken into account.
Find a floor covering for the garage
- The (probably) cheapest option is of course to paint the existing concrete floor with a good concrete paint (if necessary pretreat it with leveling compound). Ask for advice about the various options in a specialist shop or hardware store. The advantage is that the floor is easy to keep clean. Due to the salt introduced in winter, however, such colors sometimes suffer, so that it may soon be necessary to renew the paint. There are also (two-component) paints based on epoxy resin, which should be easy to drive on.
- Alternatively, you can tile the garage floor. Buy (use special offers) frost-resistant stoneware tiles in the highest abrasion class and glue them on with the appropriate tile adhesive. Pay attention to the slip resistance of the Tiles, in the garage it just gets wet every now and then. The prerequisite here, of course, is that the floor is as level as possible. Natural stone slabs are of course also possible, but these are more expensive, more difficult to lay and absorb every drop of oil.
- You can also equip the garage with a (wear-resistant and drivable) Flooring made of plastic (for example PVC) occupy. This is particularly useful if you have set up a small workshop in the garage in which you work.
