Requirements for an eBay shop

• Do you want to use the eBay auction house for regular sales or for large quantities, you can create a commercial member account and set up an online shop. For a monthly fee you get all the important functions and can get started right away.
• If you would like to open your own shop on eBay, you can only do so if you also meet the various requirements. In any case, you must be registered as a commercial seller, private sellers cannot operate a shop. You also need a PayPal account, which you then have to link to your member account on eBay.
• You have to select one of the three shop subscriptions (basic, top or premium shop) for your eBay shop. You have to pay € 24.95 per month for the basic shop, € 59.95 for the top shop and € 299.95 for the premium shop. All prices are from November 2013.

• If you decide not to go for the basic shop, but for one of the other two variants, so you must have at least a 4.0 for your 4 detailed seller ratings on an annual average to have. You can only post future fixed price offers if you have at least 10 evaluation points.

How to open a shop

1. Visit the shop website of with your internet browser eBay and click on "Open shop now!" in the upper left corner.
2. Log in with your member data by entering your username and password.
3. Now choose your subscription for your eBay shop (basic, top or premium shop). You may need to set your account status to commercial. To do this, click on the link under the red font (if available).
4. You can then select your shop name (the shop name can have a maximum of 35 characters) and then click on "Next".
5. Now all you have to do is follow eBay's instructions to start your own eBay store.
