Of course, you can also write quickly with two fingers, but if you want to be really fast, you should learn the ten-finger system. This is quite easy to practice on the PC.

Advantages of the ten-finger system

  • You can write very quickly, several hundred keystrokes per minute are feasible.
  • You can type blindly. Because you do not have to constantly look at the PC keyboard, you can only look at the text to be copied and so do not lose the line in which you are currently.
  • You write with fewer mistakes because your fingers automatically know which key to press, you don't have to think about it or look at the PC keyboard.

This is how you learn to write quickly on the PC

  1. There is a tactile mark on the keyboard for the F and J keys. This is where you position your index fingers. The other three fingers come each on the keys next to it.
    2. Increase typing speed - learn to type faster

  2. Start by simply typing asdf several times (left hand). Then comes jklö for the right hand.
  3. Now you need to change the order of the letters, e.g. B. fdsa, or asadaf etc. Do the same with your right hand.
  4. If that goes well, combine your right and left hands, e.g. B. yes let the barrel etc. This is how you form your first words.
  5. Next, add the G for your left index finger and the H for your right index finger. Make different combinations again.
  6. It goes on and on. You keep adding more letters. Practice the row above with qwer for the left hand (index finger on R) and uiop for the right hand (index finger on U). This is expanded with t and z for the index finger.
  7. On the bottom row, position your index fingers on V and N. Then combine all the letters.
  8. To type capital letters, you have to add the Shift key. Type a letter with your left hand, hold down the Shift key with your right little finger, and vice versa.
  9. At the end, the numbers and special characters are added.

If you proceed in such a methodical manner, you will learn very quickly to write on the PC with the ten-finger system. Prepare letter combinations and texts to practice typing. There are also programs with which you can practice systematically and which also statistically evaluate your progress.
