VIDEO: Extend the HD Plus card
An HD Plus card is roughly comparable to a prepaid card for a cell phone. You have to deposit an amount and you can enjoy television in high definition picture quality for a year. Just before it expires, you'll need to renew the card. But that's pretty easy.
How to determine the data of your HD-Plus card
- You will be informed two weeks before the expiry that an extension will be necessary. After a few days, information appears again about the date on which the card will expire.
- However, you should never extend your HD Plus card early. Then you would give away a few days or weeks. The renewal should always only take place on the day on which the card has expired.
- You must first pull the card out of the corresponding slot on the receiver. You will then find the number on the back. This usually consists of a 14-digit number. You should make a note of this number before inserting the card back into the slot.
Renew the card online
- The quickest and easiest way to extend your HD Plus card is online. To do this, you need the card number.
- Then visit the HD Plus webshop. There you will find a lot of interesting information and a corresponding page for extending the card.
- At the bottom of the screen you will see an input field in which you can enter the card number.
- Then click on the button labeled “Direct to checkout”. After you have clicked on this button, you will be directed to the checkout.
- There you then enter your personal data and select a payment method. You can pay by direct debit, credit card or the online payment system PayPal.
- After your payment has been received, you will receive an activation code with which you can extend the term of the card.

If you missed the appointment to renew your HD Plus card, this is not a problem. An extension is possible at any time. In the meantime, you can only watch TV with normal picture quality.
