Shipping to Austria - this is how you calculate the postage

Since January 2011, the Post has new prices for shipping abroad. In contrast to before, there is now only one price list for EU countries such as Austria and the world.

Shipping dimensions for letters and postcards

• The various prices of letters and postcards are based on size and weight values. So before you can determine the price, you have to measure and weigh your letter.
• If you want to send a postcard, a standard or a compact letter, the dimensions for the length must be 14 cm-23.5 cm and for the width 9 cm-12.5 cm. The standard letter can weigh up to 20 g and be up to 0.5 cm thick, while the compact letter weighs up to 50 g and can be up to 1 cm thick.
• For larger shipments to Austria, you have to send large or maxi letters. The length of these letters must be at least 14 cm, the width at least 9 cm, whereby the length, width and height together must not be greater than 90 cm. The large letter weighs up to 500 g, the maxi letter even up to 2 kg.

Postage costs to Austria

The postage costs are graded according to the different letter names.

• Standard letters up to 20 g and postcards can be sent to Austria for 75 cents.
• The compact letter costs you € 1.45.
• If the dimensions and weight so require, frank your large letter with € 3.45.
• There are two prices for the maxi letter, which depend on the weight. If your letter weighs up to 1 kg, you have to postage it with € 7.00. If you weigh between one and two kilograms, you pay € 16.90.
• If you want to send an international registered mail, you pay an additional € 2.05 surcharge on the regular shipping price of your letter to Austria.
