Do you have little space in your bedroom, but still want to put a TV in it, but all four corners of your room are full? Then you still have the option of attaching a wall bracket for the television to the wall. So you can also accommodate it in your bedroom without clearing a corner.

TVs on the wall create space.

What you need:

  • Wall bracket for satellite systems
  • two 3 cm thick wooden boards
  • Steel angle
  • drill
  • Folding rule
  • pencil
  • 10 wood drill bit
  • 10 screw
  • Washers
  • ball-bearing
  • Nuts

Wall brackets are already available in stores for all types of televisions. Most of the time, the wall brackets are included when you buy an LCD TV. However, the television is currently hanging on the wall and cannot be moved. If you would like a flexible wall bracket where the television can be rotated, you can build one yourself on the wall.

Mount the LCD TV on the wall

  1. Use a wall bracket for satellite systems.
  2. Attach this bracket to the wall at the appropriate height.
  3. If you have attached the satellite bracket, you now have to screw the wall bracket of your television with a so-called horseshoe, which has a thread at both ends.
  4. Do not turn it too tight, otherwise it will no longer turn.
  5. Build a TV wall yourself

A TV wall is not just a nice way to have a TV on the wall ...

  6. If it is still too tight, you can counter the nuts if necessary.

Build a wall bracket for older televisions

  1. Older televisions are not that easy to attach to the wall due to their heavy weight. This is a little more involved, but not impossible.
  2. Screw the two large steel brackets to the wall, 10 cm inward from the width of the TV. That means, if the TV is 70 cm wide, drill this on the wall at a distance of 50 cm.
  3. Make sure that the legs of the steel brackets are at least 30 cm for the wall and at least 40 cm for the depth.
  4. Screw one of the two 3 cm thick wooden boards that are the size of your television onto the steel brackets.
  5. Now place the second 3 cm thick wooden board on the board that has already been screwed on and pull the board, which is still loose, about 10-15 cm forward. Measure this precisely with the help of a folding rule.
  6. Grab the clamps and secure the wooden boards from slipping.
  7. Measure the exact center of the upper board with a folding rule and mark this point with a pencil with a cross.
  8. With a 10 mm wood drill, drill a hole at the measured point with the cross from above through both boards.
  9. Take a 10 mm screw and a washer screw and slide them through the hole between the two wooden boards.
  10. Place 1 washer on each of the wood and place a ball bearing between them.
  11. Finally, tighten the screw at the bottom with a washer and nut.

The wall bracket for heavy televisions is ready.
