A bouquet of flowers is always a real treat for the eyes. This is not only due to the many, strong and bright colors. Flowers are also a symbol of sun, warmth and beauty. Unfortunately, the cut flowers for the vase do not always last very long. This applies to roses as well as to flowers, for example asters, which bloom in autumn.

Roses are the royal flowers

No other flowers are as popular and associated with beauty and love as Roses. The flower should of course stay in the vase for a long time, as it is often given away as a cut flower.

  • The rose is a flower that is classified as a shrub flower. Although it is considered a symbol of love, the rose is a very freedom-loving one and with pointed spiked plant that gives place to natural thriving and a sunny spot needed.
  • To date, over 200 different types of roses have been counted, although a distinction must still be made between wild and cultivated roses. Since these flowers are very popular, they are specially grown to later be marketed as cut flowers.
  • Buyers are happy about healthy roses for the vase. So it becomes all the more a matter of what you have to do to ensure that it stays there for a long time. First of all, of course, it is important that the flowers are not in full bloom. You will have the longest pleasure when the buds are still closed when you buy them.

How the flowers last for a long time

  1. Before you put the roses in the vase, please shorten the stems. This is useful not only to adapt it to the size of the vase, but also to create a fresh cut for water and nutrient absorption.
  2. Keeping roses fresh - so you can enjoy your bouquet for a long time

Among the cut flowers, a bouquet of roses is, of course, the most beautiful thing you can ...

  3. Remove excess foliage from the stems so that they only remain in the area that is actually visible. Every leaf and branch requires additional and unnecessary nutrients and fluids.
  4. In order to increase the area for the liquid absorption, cut the stems diagonally from top to bottom at the end and split them in a cross shape with the knife about 5 millimeters deep.

Overall, however, it is also a question of the quality of the roses. And by the way, you can confidently do without additives in the water if you only change it regularly and repeat step three for the roses. The use of lukewarm water should also improve fluid absorption.
