Convert WLMP to MP4
If you have Windows Movie Maker, you can convert WLMP files to MP4 format in no time at all. You can create other formats from these files if necessary.
Open and run WLMP files
- WLMP files are Windows-Movie Maker projects created in Windows Movie Maker. You can only open these files in this program. These files will not work in other video programs.
- Therefore, if you want to use the files in another program, you must first convert them to another file format.
- Open the files with Windows Movie Maker. You can either do this via the program itself or by double-clicking on the files.
- Make sure, however, that you do not change the names of the files. Then the conversion does not succeed because the respective paths can no longer be found.
Convert to MP4 files
- To convert the WLMP files to MP4 format, go to the blue icon in Windows Movie Maker, which is located in the top left of the window.
- A selection list opens from which you can select the “Save movie” option.

- Give your file a name and choose where you want to save the file and the file format. You can choose between WMV files and MPEG-4 files. Since you want to receive an MP4 file, select the MPEG-4 file format.
