- The temperature at which you have to be able to turn the heating on again depends on the inside and outside temperature. Both values are decisive. If the measured value is below the limit value for two to three days, you must be able to heat. However, you should primarily pay attention to the outside temperature, as this is a value that cannot be influenced by the location of your home.

What to do if the heater hasn't turned on
- If you find that your heating system is switched off and you cannot heat it for more than three days, even though the outside temperature is below 12 degrees, please contact your landlord.
- Most landlords will switch the heating system back on immediately after a short phone call. If this does not happen, write your landlord a letter in which they announce that rent to reduce.
- You can then reduce the rent retrospectively for the time in which you cannot heat.
- Make a note of the outside temperature at which you could no longer turn on the heating. In this way you can later prove when you were unable to heat and how long the reduction period is. The outside and inside temperature is decisive for the point in time from when you can start reducing.
