OSB: wallpapering the panels

Properly pretreat the OSB board

OSB panels are made from wood chips and are therefore also called coarse chipboard. To at the Wallpapering the drying plates to achieve desirable results, you must treat them accordingly. You can do this by filling the unevenness and sticking renovation fleece, which gives you an absorbent Underground obtain.

• You can even out larger bumps and bumps with filler. To do this, press the filler directly into the joints with the hand spatula and then pull the surface off smoothly.
• Then let the filler dry for five hours and then sand the affected areas to get a smooth surface.
• Since OSB panels are a natural material, you should also apply a primer. This will prevent ingredients such as resins from shining through the wallpaper. Use to prime the walls a wallpaper base for non-woven wallpapers and apply this evenly and generously.

Cover the coarse chipboard with fleece before wallpapering

Before you can wallpaper your chipboard, you need to glue on renovation fleece in order to obtain an absorbent surface for the wallpaper covering.

1. To do this, apply a dispersion adhesive with good filling properties to the entire surface with the notched trowel.
2. Then lay the renovation fleece on top of the wet adhesive.
3. Use a plastic smoothing tool to gently press the fleece on so that the adhesive is evenly distributed.
4. After drying, you can wallpaper the panels like any other wall by pasting your wallpaper, letting it soak and then sticking it on.

You cannot paper OSB panels without processing them beforehand. Therefore you first have to fill and prime the panels and then cover them with renovation fleece. This is the only way to get an even and absorbent surface to which the wallpaper can adhere.
